Sushi Tei @ Pavilion

Decided to try the new teishoku set lunch which is only available on weekdays, 11am - 4pm, excluding public holidays.
Sanma Kabayaki & Maki @ RM15.80
Grilled pike mackerel with teriyaki sauce, salmon roll, green mussel fried rice, mini salad, miso soup, braised crab meat on chawanmushi.

One of the best chawanmushi I've had so far. Topped with a layer of braised crab meat, filled with gingko nuts and chicken cubes.

Hotate Seiro Gohan & Ham Pasta @ RM18.80
Baby scallop cooked with teriyaki sauce on rice, chicken ham pasta, mini salad, miso soup, braised crab meat on chawanmushi.

Overall, drinks order were taken once the menus were given, food came quite fast but the staffs didn't bother refilling the drinks and chopsticks.

Goon Wah Restaurant @ Kuchai Lama

They're famous for their XO Fish Head Noodle here and the funny thing here is that they only open on weekdays. We decided to order a few dishes of those shown on the wall.

Gingko Barley Dessert

Their famous claypot XO fish head noodles which brings out the aroma of the XO once the dish was served on our table. This one taste saltier than the one I usually have due to the amount of salted vege placed in the soup, a different kind I would say and it has yam in it too.

Tiny chunks of peanuts laid on the taufu with thai style chilli sauce and preserved eggs at the side of the taufu. Simply delicious.

The claypot 'Lou Shu Fan' in this pic is before mixing it. To avoid it from burning, it is advisable to finish this first before enjoying the rest.

One of the best pork belly with yam (Wu Tao Khao Yuk) which is also one of the famous dish served here.

The steamed buns here are meant to be eaten with the pork belly, something similar to pao.

Senya Dining

I have always been a big fan of Japanese food and since the family is craving for it too, we decided to try out Senya Dining which is located at the Isetan Eat Paradise, 1 Utama. There was this special promotion where if one person orders above RM14, they'll be entitled to a free salad which is refillable. All of us were able to enjoy the free salad as the main course are all RM14 and above.

The place where we get our free salad

Salad

The bits of mashed up potatoes makes the salad satisfying

Miso Yaki Chicken Don (Chef's Recommendation) @ RM15.50

Japanese Chicken Karaage Curry @ RM19

This taste and fragrance of the curry is similar to curry served in Yoshinoya, Japan. Bits of potatoes can be found in the curry. No idea why the Yoshinoya here closed down though as the one in Japan has pretty good business.

Chicken Karaage Udon @ RM18.50

This dish simply reminds me of the one I had in Hakone. The crab meat is somehow nicer as I can feel the layers of it as I chew although it looks normal and the seaweed is similar to those korean seaweed soup which I find nicer than the roasted one. Not being a chicken lover, I kinda enjoyed the chicken karaage as the texture of the meat is soft with a crispy thin layer of skin.

Chicken Karaage Soba @ RM18.50

 Chicken Teriyaki Don @ RM15

Japanese Chicken Katsu Curry @ RM19

Beef Yakiniku Don (Chef's Recommendation) @ RM25

This is much nicer than the one I tried at Sushi Zen. Don't get me wrong though, I am not saying the one at Sushi Zen is bad but the taste of the beef is a little bland and has not much sauce in it. The portion of the food served here is definitely worth the price.
